Fox St. Press was founded by Eugene Cordell, the publisher behind Azure Lorica, a nonprofit arts organization built from the ground up through blogging, web design, and the passion of a grassroots community. What began as a creative platform quickly grew into a movement—thanks to the collaboration of Stefanie Warner and a dedicated network of volunteers and contributors who believed in the power of independent storytelling.

As trends in digital content shifted and the landscape of online engagement evolved, the team recognized that the most sustainable path forward was book publishing—a medium that offered both permanence and depth. In partnership with Bek Geiger, a skilled editor and translator, Eugene and Stefanie began to build a publishing service that could reflect the same values they’d nurtured at Azure Lorica: artistic integrity, accessibility, and quality craftsmanship.

But the road wasn’t smooth.

Amazon's self-publishing model, though appealing on the surface, revealed a harsher reality: exorbitant distribution cuts, limited pricing flexibility, and razor-thin margins that left authors with little to show for their work. While self-publishing gave writers control, it often forced them to sacrifice quality—cutting corners on design, editing, and formatting just to stay within budget. As the market flooded with poorly made books, serious authors began searching for something better: a way to retain control without compromising quality.

Fox St. Press was created to meet that need.

We are a hybrid publishing house—offering the professional polish of traditional publishing with the freedom and ownership of self-publishing. Our mission is to build beautiful, high-quality books that reflect each author’s voice, while offering the tools, branding, and design expertise needed to compete in a crowded marketplace.

At Fox St. Press, we believe real authors deserve real books—crafted with care, built to last, and backed by a team that respects their vision.
